With fall quickly turning into winter and football season starting to wrap up, here are some things to do in Gainesville and Ocala this weekend 11/6-11/11 that'll keep you warm but are also great to look forward to when there's not much on TV.
Weekend Bash-Gainesville Edition
Simon's night club is hosting their weekly "Weekend Bash." However, this is one of their last tailgate parties of the season From Friday, November 8 from 8PM-11PM. Entry into the event is between $15-$25 per person and tickets are still available online. Simon's will also be offering special bottle menus and VIP sections. All of these prices are also available online. Enjoy the last of the Gator football season and ring in the victory of the Vandy game right!
The Hails are coming to Gainesville and will be debuting their album "The Fall." Their hit single "Sugar" shouldn't be missed this weekend! The concert will be held at the High Dive on Friday November 8 from 9:30PM-12:30AM but doors will open at 9PM. Driveaway, a Gainesville local band and Miles From London will also be performing. Tickets are available online from $10-$12 per person.
Tom Petty's Gainesville: Where Dreams Began
Beloved Gainesvillian, Tom Petty is being paid tribute at the Matheson History Museum. "The Matheson History Museum is excited to host this exhibition focusing on the early days of Tom Petty's 40-year history in rock and roll, that all started right here in Gainesville, Florida. The show will include never-before-exhibited Petty memorabilia, such as handwritten lyrics to his hit song 'Don't Come Around Here No More,' instruments and equipment used by Tom's first band, Mudcrutch, as well as personal items his local childhood friends and family have generously shared with us." The event is completely free to the public but visitors should register online ahead of time. Free hors d'oeuvres will also be served. The exhibition will be held on Friday, November 8 from 6PM-9PM.
Teddy Robb is an up and coming national country singer and will be making his first appearance in Gainesville on Sunday November 10. The concert will be held at the High Dive and will begin at 7:30PM but doors open at 7PM. Tickets cost between $8 and $10 and are still available online. The Austin Hunter Band and Noah Alan will also be performing!
The Florida Player's Club will be hosting Ugly Lies The Bone at the Hippodrome Theatre Cinema. Various ticket prices are available whether you're a single ticket purchaser or with a group, tickets will increase up to $10 at the door. This play will only be on for three days starting Monday November 11-13 and will be from 8PM-10PM every night. One thing's for sure, this play will be an out of this world viewing experience for you and your friends.
All of these events are indoors so they're a great way to experience the dropping temperatures in Gainesville and Ocala this weekend!
