Sumter Youth Center- "Where Kids Come First" MISSION STATEMENT: "To provide a place where youth can develop healthy lifestyles and quality relationships that will help produce productive and caring adults."

The Sumter Youth Center (SYC) is a non-profit, community based organization, serving the social service needs of youth and families on the north and south ends of Sumter County. Our goal is to enable those we serve to adapt and contribute productively in our multi-cultural society.

SYC began in 2001 as a joint project of Sumter County community leaders and the United Way. Since 2001 SYC has grown to serve hundreds of youth and families throughout the Sumter County area.

On May 21, 2002 SYC successfully opened the doors to its Wildwood center. Our combined facilities have more than 34,000 square feet of recreation areas, including outdoor basketball courts, computer labs, classrooms, table games, and snack bar areas.
