GAINESVILLE GOES MEDIEVAL

For two consecutive weekends, on Saturday, Jan. 26 and Sunday, Jan. 27 and Friday, Feb. 1 through Sunday, Feb. 3, the Alachua County Fairgrounds transforms into a medieval marketplace filled with hundreds of artisans and entertainers. On Friday, February 1, we will offer a “Family Friday” deal, featuring reduced-price ticket sales for all guests. Wander the medieval marketplace where hundreds of talented artisans sell their medieval wares. Step back in time and cheer on jousting knights as they fight for their ladies’ honor, witness a battle on the living chess board, observe a full-flight falconry show and armored combat. Enjoy human-powered push rides as well as camel and pony rides. Be sure to test your strength with old world games, and feast on food fit for a king. Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 6pm, ticket prices are $18 for adults and $8 for children ages 5 to 17. On Friday, February 1, from 9am to 4pm, tickets are $9 for adults and $4 for children.
