It’s that time of year! Gather your family and friends and head out to the local berry farms for some quality time and a one-of-a-kind experience picking berries for a seasonal treat or to harvest for a homemade pie. We’ve rounded up some berry picking farms in North Central Florida that is a fun springtime activity!
Island Grove
Open to the public in the first week in April. Open from 9 AM-5 PM. Buckets are provided. Although the market price varies, typically the price runs approximately $4 a pound which is roughly half of the typical grocery store price.
Wimauma
Strawberry U-pick. No need to schedule an appointment. Just come out to the farm, once the fields have opened for u-pick and workers will greet you at the gate. Bring your own containers.
Hawthorne
U-pick strawberries available! Brown’s Farm also offers a crop maze experience for visitors! Bring the entire family for a day of fun, or make it a romantic adventure with your significant other. Alachua
Blueberry picking season begins June 2018. Visits are available most days/hours Monday – Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM by invitation. Contact them in advance or text the morning of your trip to 352.507.8128.

High Springs
Blueberry picking season begins June 2018 and runs until mid-July. High Springs Orchard also has a wide range of fruit and nut options available for pickup. Whether you are looking to pick, or have all of the work done for you, High Springs has it all.
Eustis
Blueberry picking season begins in April and runs through May. If you need specific dates or are trying to beat the crowd, you have the option to be added to their email list to be notified when the season begins.
Lakeland
Oponay Farms is known for having the freshest U-Pick blackberries, blueberries, and peaches in Lakeland. Introduce your little ones to fresh produce from a local farm - or make it a family tradition!
Gainesville
Three generations of Rogers have worked the 1,000 acres of farmland we own between Gainesville and LaCrosse, The farm offers U-pick or we-pick strawberries starting mid-March. From their family to yours, this strawberry picking experience is sure to bring everyone together.

Hawthorne
This U-pick blueberry farm was established in 1984. Their season runs from May through June, open Fri, Sat & Sun 8 AM-12 PM Tues & Thurs 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Please call the hotline at 352.466.0105 before coming out to ensure they are open.
